The parts involved in the conversion are off-the-shelf, any competent driveline shop can do it. I'm not going to bother doing any more B&T joints unless someone starts to make a boot that will last. Once I had a look, it was clear that the rubber boot had completely disintegrated. Must be the rear axle, since it's about the only thing in the car I have not fully rebuilt yet. Was hopeful to get to Austin Tx for Lone Star Round Up this spring, but new joint didnt cure all the vibrations - getting some above 65mph, so couldn't make the trip once again. Instead of getting a new housing and pressing out/in the pin, I decided to convert to slip joint instead since I do drive the car a lot. I rebuilt the original trunnion joint a few times past 10 or so years and finally discovered that the housing was worn out to the point of being unusable. Had mine done for my 57 Chrysler a couple of months ago at Chicago Driveline for ~$250 - I had the adapter in hand, so similar cost.
